Pontefract Squash Club's Willstrop wins Commonwealth Games gold
Pontefract Squash Club's James Willstrop is the new Commonwealth Games men's singles champion following a brilliant performance in the final this morning against New Zealand's Paul Coll.
Willstrop, previously twice runner-up in the event, crowned his great squash career with an 11-9, 11-4, 11-6 victory over an opponent he has struggled against in the past.
The 34-year-old number four seed has enjoyed a fantastic tournament at the Gold Coast venue and is a popular winner after his near misses at three previous Commonwealth Games.
