New screens are just the ticket for commuters
The towns’ railway stations are among 14 in West Yorkshire to get new real time information screens.
Northern Rail and West Yorkshire Combined Authority have invested £360,000 in the scheme along with an additional contribution from Grand Central Rail.

Hide AdNatalie Loughborough, Northern Rail customer service director, said screens would be installed at 130 locations across the north this year.
She said: “We listen carefully to our customers’ feedback and we know they value real-time travel information.
“It will keep people up-to-date with information about arrival and departure times as well as station calling points along the route.
“The launch of these customer information screens demonstrates our commitment to investing in communication channels at our smaller stations.

Coun James Lewis, chairman of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Transport Committee, said the scheme built on the work already in place for bus passengers with real-time journey information at bus stops across West Yorkshire.
He added: “Passengers value the convenience of accurate, timely information.”
The stations benefiting from the new scheme are South Elmsall, Featherstone, Denby Dale, Mirfield, Honley, Shepley, Slaithwaite, Burley Park, Cottingley, Marsden, Morley, Batley and Headingley.
The majority of screens will be installed over the next few months.
