Controlled explosion after First World War bomb found in Wakefield
A First World War bomb shell was discovered in Wakefield yesterday.
Police cordoned off an area of the Peacock Estate around Silcoates Street at around 12.30pm.
The army bomb disposal team were called in to detonate the shell in a nearby field.
The controlled explosion took place at around 3.45pm.
