THERE was no festive cheer for out-of-form, and out-of-luck, Frickley Athletic on Boxing Day when they went down to a last-gasp 2-1 defeat at old foes Worksop Town.

Gary King netted Town’s winner five minutes into stoppage time to see the Tigers come from behind to collect the three Evo-Stik Premier Division points.

James Ashmore had fired Peter Rinkcavage’s men ahead but Owain Warlow levelled for the hosts and Mark Gray’s second-half sending-off put paid to any hopes of a Frickley victory.

The defeat leaves the Blues 17th in the Evo-Stik Premier Division and with just one point from their last possible 15.

The South Elmsall side will be looking to bounce back and kick-start 2012 with victory when they host struggling Whitby Town on Monday, kick-off 3pm.
