Wakefield College rugby league team targeting treble triumph
The team has all-but won the Yorkshire Colleges Premier Division title and is setting its sights on a successful defence of both the Yorkshire Colleges Cup and National Champion Schools Cup over the coming months.
Securing the league title will be first on the agenda, with Wakefield set to complete their campaign against Leeds City College when they return from half term.

Hide AdOnly defeat by a huge scoreline, coupled with a big win for second-placed Calderdale College, would thwart Wakefield in their quest for glory.
“It’s possible that we could win the treble and it would be a fantastic achievement for all concerned,” said head coach Mick Bamford.
“We’re defending the Yorkshire Cup and hopefully we can win that again and go on to defend the National Cup.
“We’ve done that over the last two years so there’s no reason we can’t do the same this year.”

Hide AdWakefield beat Huddersfield New College last time out, thanks to tries from Zak White, captain Scott Talbot and prop Liam Sarginson, to edge closer to the league title.
They have been given a favourable start in the Yorkshire Cup with a bye in the first round and they are set to start in the second round next month.
The team’s top form has also resulted in three players being selected to represent Yorkshire in the big National Carnival inter-county competition, to be played next month.
Zack White, Troy Anderson and Ryan Kelsey have all received the call-up thanks to their impressive form throughout the year, in what is ultimately a trial to impress the England Colleges coaches for inclusion in the national squad.
