Upton start BARLA National Cup campaign at holders Sharlston

UPTON will start their BARLA National Cup campaign with a tough test at holders Sharlston Rovers.

The draw for the first round of the top amateur competition took place today and the Quarry Lane side will face one of the toughest sides in the hat in Pennine League Rovers.

The game will take place at Sharlston’s Weeland Road base on Saturday, January 14.

Upton will at least be in confident mood going into the tie thanks to their top form in the CMS Yorkshire League.

They sit second in Division 1, behind leaders Fryston Warriors, who Upton beat in their last match at the weekend.
