Upton ARLFC under eights gave their finest display of the season in their final home game against Stanningley, running out winners by ten tries to six.

Jayden Male got the home side off to a perfect start after good work by Toby Ludewig.

Stanningley hit back but Kai Johnson then put Upton back in front by powering over from close range.

Upton carried on the momentum with tries from Kai Sykes and Reilly Parry.

Male grabbed his second just before the break to give Upton a 5-3 advantage.

With the game still close, Upton stepped up a gear in the second half to tighten their grip on the proceedings.

Their defence was far too strong for their Leeds opponents.

Upton ran in five second-half tries with Johnson completing his hat trick with two more tries.

Ashton winks scored with a superb solo effort and Sykes grabbed his second before a training ground move helped Jacob Abell power over.

An outstanding team performance earned the entire side the MOM award.

Johnson was opposition’s mom, Sykes top tackler and parents mom and Parry most improved for his strong running.

Upton visit Elland next weekend in their final game of the season.
