The family of former Castleford Tigers and Hull FC scrum-half Tony Dean will attend tonight’s Super League clash between the teams at Hull’s KC Stadium.
Mr Dean, who played for Castleford between 1969 and 1973, died on Friday at the age of 65 after a battle with cancer.
Forty five members of Mr Dean’s family will be at tonight’s game to pay tribute to him.
His niece Mandy France said: “Hull FC have been extremely kind to the family and organised for us all to have executive seating and access to the players lounge afterwards to meet the players.
“Tony’s photo will be on the main screen and there will be a tribute to him in the programme.
“We have organised a coach from Castleford to take us all to the match.
“I feel this story of pulling together as a family also reinforces the reputation of rugby league being a family game. Tony himself was one of 14 children.”
