Coach Jon Sharp is delighted Featherstone Rovers will again have a dual-registered arrangement with Super League club Leeds Rhinos next season.
Rhinos stars Mitch Achurch, Jordan Baldwinson, Luke Briscoe, Ashton Golding, Ash Handley, Jordan Lilley, Anthony Mullally and Josh Walters all played for Rovers last season.,
“It was a really positive initiative and partnership and I thought both clubs benefited from it last season,” said Sharp.
“Leeds got game time into their players at a good standard and we got the chance to coach and to watch some really good players in Featherstone shirts so we are delighted we are going around again next year with them.
“It was a slow start last season with both teams having a lot of injuries, in particular with Leeds losing players early on, but the boys who did come in were absolutely outstanding and a credit to Leeds.
“They were very professional and very enthusiastic and their commitment to the team was brilliant. All the Leeds players had a positive impact for us on the field and also in training.
“The performances from Anthony Mullally and Ashton Golding gave us a big lift at a crucial stage in the year and helped us qualify for the top-four.
“Josh Walters was a breath of fresh air during the play-offs and was probably a stand-out player for us.”
