The Post Office Road club has reported that they have sold more tickets for the event than they did for the 2022 season opener, also at York, making it already set to be one of the biggest away followings in years.

York’s recently opened LNER Community Stadium is home to the Summer Bash this year with all 14 Championship teams in action over the weekend.

Featherstone will be in action on Saturday evening (7.30pm) when they face hosts York Knights and their supporters will be travelling in good spirits with their team going into the Bash still boasting a 100 per cent league record with 11 wins from 11 so far.

Sean Long’s men have already convincingly beaten the Knights 46-4 on home soil back in March, but are expecting a tougher challenge this time with York determined to put on a good show on their big day.

Rovers’ French international Mathieu Cozza was one of the try scorers in the previous meeting and is pushing for a place back in the side after overcoming an injury picked up while playing for France against England.

Featherstone are likely to be closer to full strength after injury woes in the last month and after a week off last weekend they will be freshened up to give a big showing.

A dedicated Fanzone will be in operation behind the West Stand with street food, bars and live entertainment across the weekend.
