Featherstone Rovers captain Liam Finn has been granted a testimonial by the RFL for services to the game.
The six-month testimonial starts with a dinner at the club on Friday, August 16, when the guest speaker will be Sean Long.
Finn said: “I feel very privileged to receive a testimonial from the RFL and humbled to have been able to play the game I love at a good level. I see this as a chance to celebrate that with all the people who have supported me over the years and hopefully be able to thank as many people as I can in that time”.
Rovers coach Ryan Sheridan said: “What a fantastic player Finny is. I’ve coached him for a number of years now and it’s been an absolute pleasure. I can’t think of anybody more deserving of a testimonial than Finny, even if he is cranky sometimes. All the best Smiler.”
Other events, including a touch rugby tournament, will be announced later.
