Featherstone Rovers will announce new signings at an open day for supporters, media and sponsors at Big Fellas Stadium this Saturday.

Rovers chairman Mark Campbell will host the event from 8.30am onwards.

Visitors can tour the re-development of the Railway End of the stadium and see players training in the Centre of Excellence.

It will be followed by a querstion and answer session with Mr Campbell and first team head coach Andy Hay at 11.30am in the Cappers Bar.

It will also give fans an opportunity to meet the club’s new signings including Sam Irwin who arrives from Australia this week.

Rovers team boss Hay said: “There is a possiblility we could announce four new signings on Saturday.

“There will also be a couple of contract extensions for current players as well.

“Hopefully, the new signings will be there on Saturday. We are tying up some loose ends this week.

“It’s taken a little longer than we thought because of the calibre of player we are chasing.

“I hope the fans come down. It will be chance for them to have a look at what we are doing and meet the new players.

“We can talk to the fans about the team and put them in the picture.

“The players had a very productive first week back in pre-season training with a lot of enthusiasm shown and a great attitude to the challenges ahead.

“There’s a lot of positive things happening at the club off the field and it’s time for us to let supporters know all about it and our plans for the future.”

The Rovers Foundation staff will be opening the doors of the GMB Centre on Saturday so younger fans can get involved in a range of activites.

Mr Campbell said: “We’ve noticed a lot of negativity regarding the club and our ambitions for 2015 particularly in social media.

“Within the club we are positive about what the future holds.

“We have invested heavily in the redevelopment of the Big Fellas Stadium and the Centre of Excellence which many people have yet to see in person.

“We thought this was the ideal opportunity for people to come down to the stadium and see with their own eyes what we are doing at the club and what this will mean in future revenues.

“We are asking people to come along, add their support and fetch their brass as I am sure once they hear and see what we have they will be buying their season tickets for 2015.”

From 8.30am onwards bacon and sausages will be available in the Cappers Bar and supporters will be able to view and purchase the new home shirt and leisurewear range by partners XBlades and find out more information on match day sponsorship and other commercial opportunities at the club in 2015.
