Rovers pair Spears and Smeaton charged with offences

FEATHERSTONE Rovers players Sam Smeaton (pictured) and Tim Spears have been charged with committing offences in last Sunday's 34-22 Northern Rail Cup defeat against Batley Bulldogs.

Prop Spears, who was sent off, has been charged with committing a Grade C violent punching offence in the 76th minute.

Centre Smeaton, who was sin-binned three minutes earlier along with Batley's Alex Bretherton, has been charged with a Grade A striking offence.

Batley's Bretherton and Paul Mennell have been charged with Grade B and Grade A offences respectively from the game.

Bretherton has been charged with a striking offence in the 73rd minute while Mennell’s charge refers to a conduct contrary to the spirit of the game offence in the 76th minute.
