Featherstone Rovers coach Andy Hay was pleased with Jordan Baldwinson’s display in Monday’s 33-4 defeat against Sheffield Eagles.
Twenty-year-old prop Baldwinson played the entire game after Rovers lost experienced Paul Wood with an ankle injury on the very first tackle of the match.
“To lose one of your main players on the first tackle made it really tough for us,” said Hay.
“It made things awkward and I thought it was an outstanding effort from Jordan Baldwinson to play 80 minutes in a game like that.
“It really helped out our pack and our rotation. He trains hard and he prepares well. He’s got desire and he’s got some fire in him that he wants to do well every week.
“I thought Jy Hitchcox had a real dig on Monday and Jamie Cording again had a real go.”
