Featherstone soared to the top of the Kingstone Press Championship by running in nine tries in Sunday’s 52-6 win against York City Knights.

Liam Finn contributed 24 points with eight goals and two tries as Rovers condemned lowly York to their fifth successive defeat.

Rovers, who were forced to field a makeshift centre partnership of Frankie Mariano and Will Sharp because of injuries, ran out easy winners after being only 18-6 up at half-time.

Mariano (pictured), who is on loan from Wakefield, grabbed two tries and Sharp also crossed.

Steve Crossley, Matty Dale, Andy Ellis and Andy Kain were Featherstone’s other try scorers.

Adam Sullivan scored York’s solitary try on the stroke of half-time.
