FRICKLEY Athletic boss Peter Rinkcavage has paid tribute to Danny Walsh’s “fantastic feat” of reaching 200 appearances for the Blues.

The 31-year-old reached the milestone in Frickley’s match against Northwich Victoria on Saturday, November 6.

He was presented with a bottle of champagne for his services to the club before the Blues’ Evo-Stik Premier Division clash with Matlock Town on Saturday.

“It’s a fantastic feat for any player to make 200 appearances for a club,” said Rinkcavage.

“I knew Danny was a good player before I came to the club and he’s been the total professional since I’ve arrived.

“He’s been the best player at the club in the time that I’ve been here.”

Walsh has made 203 starts for the South Elmsall club and two substitute appearances, scoring 22 goals along the way.

He joined Frickley at the start of the 2006-07 season and has been a prominent member of the Blues’ first-team squad.
