WILLOW VALLEY GC'S first Texas Scramble event of 2016 saw 15 teams brave the daunting conditions.
The format is proving very popular among the club's members, with many expressing to club professional Neil McBride their satisfaction at being able to play team golf as a break from the usual individual competitions.
Nigel Richardson, Pete Donaldson, John Rhodes and Colin Buzzard won the event with an impressive net total of 56.5.
Runners-up with 58.3 were Mike Kenzitt, Shaun Moyser, Andrew Hobson and Andrew Hallas.
The Winter League finalists have been decided after the last-four ties saw Jeremy Bakes and Dan Waddington beat Chris Sweeney and Kevin Buck in a play-off hole while Adam Turner and Jon Shaw defeated Shaun Helliwell and Ben Walker 4&3.
The final will take place this Sunday, April 3.
Birley Wood GC's junior team will be turned out in smart tops thanks to David and Jackie Hatcher's association with Muscular Dystrophy UK, whose logo will appear on the outfits.

Jake Charlesworth won Birley Wood's second Easter Junior competition with 40pts, five clear of second-placed Jamie Hatcher.
Calverley GC are to hold a Charity Open competition on Saturday, June 11 to raise funds for the local section of Guide Dogs for the Blind.
A four-player team event, open to men's, women's and mixed line-ups, it will be a Stableford format and entry is £24 per team.
The best two scores at each hole will count plus all scores at the par-3 holes.
There is a maximum total handicap of 54 with a 90 per cent allowance.
Calverley aim to raise £5,000 to name a new guide dog puppy Olivia in memory of the club's first female president, Olivia Douglas.
