FEATHERSTONE Rovers have forged a new partnership with Asda Yorkshire XDC, based in South Elmsall.

The partnership will include ticket initiatives for Asda employees and joint charity functions which will take place at Bigfellas Stadium.

Asda’s logo will also appear on the Featherstone Rovers mascot, Bluebeard.

Rovers general manager Lee Crooks (right), pictured with Asda Yorkshire XDC general manager Nigel Price, said: “This is an exciting partnership which will be mutually beneficial and I’m looking forward to working closely with Nigel Price.

“Linking up with an organisation such as Asda is a major boost for our Destination Super League Campaign.

“The partnership will allow Rovers to promote ourselves to Asda employees who are a significant employer in the area.

“We will also be assisting Asda in the charitable fundraising initiatives which are an important aspect of what we are doing at Featherstone.

Nigel Price said: “As a major employer in the district and Featherstone Rovers pushing for Super League, our partnership will grow.

“I’d like to thank Rovers for establishing the partnership and looking forward to creating some employee initiatives and helping to raise money for charity with their assistance.”
