The all conquering stable of Richard Fahey – hugely successful throughout the 2015 racing season – have confirmed that they will play host to Pontefract racecourse’s annual badge holders on a special VIP day out to the yard.
Fahey was crowned the 2015 champion trainer at Pontefract after High Baroque took his tally to 12 winners at the course in September. His nearest challenger Mick Easterby had five wins at the track throughout the season.
During a remarkable season, Malton trainer Fahey saddled 167 winners on turf.
The popular trainer will welcome 50 of Pontefract’s annual badge holders to his yard on Monday, June 27.
The badge holders will be lucky enough to see such notable horses as Don’t Touch and Third Time Lucky who both picked up massive handicaps throughout the season.
Pontefract racecourse’s assistant manager Richard Hammill said: “We’re really grateful to Mr Fahey for allowing our badge holders to have a look at one of the most successful yards in the country.
“It’s a real honour to be able to get up close and personal to some of the stars of the 2015 season and it promises to be an absolutely fantastic day out.”
After a tour of the yard, the badge holders will be transported back to Pontefract where they’ll enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the racecourse and a VIP lunch in the Dalby Stand boxes.
They’ll then settle down to enjoy some cracking racing and enjoy some first rate hospitality.
The annual badge is on sale now via the racecourse website or by calling 01977 781307.
Annual badge holders can access 35 free exchange days at racecourses around the country including all eight other Yorkshire courses plus Chester, Newmarket, Newbury and Haydock among others.
They can also dine in Pontefract racecourse’s beautiful Park Suite restaurant at the reduced rate of £43 per person and take advantage of a ‘bring a friend for free’ offer on Monday evening, June 6.
