Former Cyprus international takes on Hemsworth role

UPWARDLY mobile Hemsworth RFC have appointed former Cyprus international player Matt Lowe as assistant coach.

Lowe, from Fitzwilliam, played rugby league at Kinsley Raiders and Upton before switching codes to join Hemsworth.

A move to Cyprus resulted in Lowe becoming the first ever English skipper of Paphos Tigers and a call-up to the Cypriot international team.

Lowe has now made his return to Moxon Fields as an assistant coach to boss Carl Wroe, who led Hemsworth to promotion to Yorkshire Division 3 last season.

Pre-season training at Hemsworth is now taking place at Moxon Fields on Mondays and Wednesdays (7pm to 9pm).

Players of all experience levels are welcome to attend.
