Rockingham Colliery and Warmsworth meet at Houghton Main on Sunday in an all-South Yorkshire League final in the Supplementary Yorkshire Council play-off.

Warmsworth reached the final with last Sunday’s 99-run win over Brodsworth Main who beat fellow Pontefract League Division Two side Hemsworth Miners Welfare by 71 runs in the quarterfinals the previous week.

Ryan Pearson (65), Andrew Haywood (44) and Dominic McGough (35) steered Warmsworth to 247-9.

Brodsworth’s Andrew Warren had figures of 4-61 from nine overs.

Brodsworth’s reply started disastrously when both openers Warren and Alex Snaith were out for ducks and Richard Hull was dismissed after scoring just three.

David Merryweather (37) and Josh Rutherford (30) led a recovery but it wasn’t enough as Brodsworth were bowled out for 148.
