Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell heaped praise on his hooker Adam Milner after his outstanding display against Warrington Wolves when he outshone his former team-mate Daryl Clark.
Man of Steel Clark was not at his best in his first game against his hometown club following a big money move to Warrington, but in contrast opposing hooker Milner was man of the match after an all-action display in which he scored one try and came within inches of two more.
Powell agreed Milner really stood out.
He told the Express: “Adz has been working really hard on his game, not just his running game, but his ability to pass the ball accurately consistently.
“I thought he took his opportunity at Warrington to play against Clarky and come out on top.
“He’ll be delighted with that. He had a tough year last year when Clarky was going superbly well with us. But he showed that he is a superb player and is getting better all the time.
“He needs to continue to work hard and he is going to be a high quality player for us this season.
“I was really pleased with him and I thought it was his best game while I’ve been at the club. He was excellent with and without the ball.”
