Featherstone Rovers have signed 29-year-old Scotland international second-row forward Frankie Mariano.
It will be his second spell at the Big Fellas Stadium.
His signing was officially confirmed at last night’s fans’ forum in the clubhouse.
Catalans Dragons were also reported to be interested in signing the former Hull KR, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Castleford Tigers player.
Castleford announced in September that he would be leaving the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
He was out of contract and was not offered a new deal by the Tigers after an injury-hit season.
He made his debut for Scotland as a substitute in the Four Nations clash against England last month.
He played for Batley Bulldogs last season in the Kingstone Press Championship on dual registration from Castleford.
