Recently retired first team star Kirk Dixon is to make a quick return to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle this Sunday when he will address Castleford Tigers fans on the pitch after the opening game of the new season against Wakefield Wildcats.
The long serving goalkicking Tigers winger, who has made the decision to quit following a neck injury, will also be remembered in a special edition of the matchday programme that is marking his career.
It will include a pull-out poster and 100 random copies of the programme will be signed by Kirk himself, making them extra special.
The Tigers are aiming to start the season with a bang on and off the pitch.
They will be looking to retain the Adam Watene Trophy, which will be presented to the winning team straight after the final whistle.
Entertainment will be provided by The 3 Yorkshireteers, live in the Tiger Marquee 2.30-3pm and then again after the match.
Junior action will be provided by Cas’ Panthers under 9s taking on Fryston under 9s, while Swillington under 8s do battle against Kippax under 8s.
Super League’s finest cheerleaders ‘The Claws’ have been perfecting their moves in readiness for the first game with mascot JT also keen to get in on the action as well.
