HEMSWORTH mixed martial arts (MMA) ace Scott Askham needed just four seconds to win his second professional bout.
The 22-year-old defeated Sheffield MMA fighter Shaun Lomas at the Barnsley Metrodome event last Friday to make it two wins from as many bouts since turning pro.
Askham knocked his opponent out with the first kick of the bout in the final event of 16 held in Barnsley.
“It was the quickest bout I’ve been involved in,” said a delighted Askham.
“He was a stand-up fighter like I am and he tried to get the first kick in but I hit back straight away and he went down with my first kick.”
Lomas, a more experienced fighter than Askham, stepped in to replace Leslee ‘Hollywood’ Ojugbana, who pulled out to take part in another bout.
The victory means Askham has now won all four of his bouts at the Metrodome following two wins at semi-professional level at the venue and a first pro win.
Fellow Hemsworth MMA fighters Mick Lockey and Nath Milner, who train alongside Askham at Doncaster Martial Arts Centre, also competed on the night.
Lockey won in the first round of his contest but Milner fell to defeat in the second round of his bout.
