HEAD coach Mark Wilson is keen for his Hemsworth side to “lay down a marker” to the rest of Yorkshire Division 4 against Harrogate Pythons on Saturday.
The Moxon Fields men host the Pythons in an early-season top-of-the-table clash, with Hemsworth leading the way thanks to a bonus point.
Both sides have won all three of their league matches so far this season but one of their respective winning runs will end this weekend.
And Wilson is confident that it won’t be his side.
“We’re playing really well at the moment, there’s a good feeling amongst the squad,” he said.
“The forwards are playing really well, they’re more dynamic and it’s leading to lost of chances, and the backs are also playing very, very well.
“We know we need to tighten up in some areas and hopefully that will come.
“Harrogate are a decent side but we know we can beat them.
“We want to lay down a marker to the rest of the division and show them what we’re all about.”
Hemsworth will be without in-form Joe Thompson through work commitments, but Dale Gorton will return to the squad.
Lewis Thompson will also be missing after moving to Liverpool for university.
Squad from: Mears, L Taylor, Harrison, Dyas, Thomson, Hall, Jones, Sykes, Briscoe, Coates, Hooker, Key, Dean Joburns, Dale Joburns, Jake Thompson, R Taylor, Jordan, Hawcroft, Campbell, Gorton, Bailey.
