Featherstone Rovers full-back Ian Hardman’s 12-month testimonial was launched by a dinner in the clubhouse on Saturday evening.
St Helens legend Paul Wellens, Hardman’s former teammate, was guest speaker at the highly successful first event which was attended by about 150 people.
Hardman has scored 113 tries in 229 games for Rovers since 2009. He previously played for St Helens, Hull KR and Widnes.
Saturday’s dinner was attended by past players, Featherstone’s current squad and supporters.
Hardman said “I’m overwhelmed with the support of everyone for this first event.
“It was a great turnout and I hope everyone had a great time - I certainly did.
“I’’ like to thank Wello and Mick Bradshaw for providing the entertainment and all my current and past teammates and of course the Rovers fans for getting behind the evening.”
Ade Gardner, Matty Smith, Tom Armstrong and Steve Tyrer were among former teammates who attended on Saturday.
James Roby and James Graham sent video messages of their best wishes.
Castleford Tigers team boss Daryl Powell, who coached Hardman at Featherstone, and ex-Rovers forward Matty Dale also sent video messages.
