FRICKLEY Colliery Cricket Club are looking for new players to bolster their ranks for the 2013 Pontefract Cricket League season.

The club, based at Westfield Lane in South Elmsall, starts its indoor nets practice at Minsthorpe Sports and Fitness Centre in February and are looking for all current players to attend, as well as attract new players for the forthcoming campaign.

The club held its annual end-of-season awards night recently with skipper Ashley Vickers winning the first team batting average award thanks to his top knocks in 2012.

Phill Howell was the big winner on the night for the first team by winning two accolades, the first team bowling averages award and the Brian Connolly players’ player of the year award for his performances throughout the year.

Greg Johnson was top man in the field for Colliery and took home the fielding award.

The Paul Caton players’ player of the year award went to the impressive Luke Malone.

Jon Hood won the fielding award and the George McIntyre Senior Club Man award went to James Handley.

With things gearing-up for the 2013 Pontefract Cricket League season at a rapid pace Frickley are also on the lookout for a scorer to help their first team this season.

The club will pay their scorer £15 per game and lunch and a travel polo shirt and club travel hooded top will also be provided, as well as any transport if required.
