Frickley Athletic will look to stretch their unbeaten run to four matches when Blyth Spartans visit Westfield Lane in the Evo-Stik Premier Division tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).

After opening the campaign with back-to-back defeats the Blues have shown signs of improvement by taking five points from a possible nine in their last three games and will be out for more against a Spartans side that sit just a point better off than Karl Rose’s men in the table.

The Blues drew 0-0 against Chorley at the weekend but Rose will be able to take positives from a first clean sheet of the season - something he was keen for after seeing his side leak 13 goals in their opening four matches of the campaign.

Blyth go into the game looking to bounce back from a 2-1 home defeat against Matlock Town but Spartans are yet to taste defeat on their travels after drawing their first two away matches at Marine and Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The Blues are expected to name the same squad that draw with Chorley at the weekend.
