SEASON ticket holders at Premier League and Football League clubs can gain free entry into Frickley Athletic’s home game against Ashton United on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

The club is taking part in Non League Day, which is held every year when top-flight games aren’t taking place due to international matches, to help raise awareness of the non-league game and increase attendances.

The majority of Evo-Stik Premier League clubs are expected to be taking place in the event this season.

This year’s event takes place this weekend and the Blues will be hoping for a bumper gate for the visit of Ashton United to the Tech5 Stadium in South Elmsall in the Evo-Stik Premier League.

Fans of local professional clubs including Barnsley, Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers, who are all without a match this weekend, will be welcome to watch the Blues.

Supporters of Premier League and Football League clubs just have to show their season ticket on the turnstile this Saturday in order to gain free entry.

There are no matches taking place in the Premier League and Championship but games in the League 1 and 2 will take place if teams don’t have international commitments.

Non League Day is the idea of Mike Bayly and James Doe, who spear-headed a nationwide campaign last season to increase awareness of the non-league game.
