TWO players formerly with the academies at Football League clubs Leeds United and Scunthorpe United have signed on with Frickley Athletic for the season ahead.
Striker Ryan Ferguson, who was at Leeds, and former Scunthorpe United wide man Lewis McMichael, both 19, have put pen to paper the Blues after impressing during pre-season.
Frickley manager Spencer Fearn said: ”We are really pleased Ryan and Lewis are with us, they work hard and can play.
“We are pretty much there with our squad for the season now and have a real competition for places, which is great for our club.”
Two of Frickley’s supporters, meanwhile, are looking into setting up a disability football team, which will be affiliated to the football club.
The idea is in its infancy and they are on the look out for new players and further down the line will be looking for sponsorship, resources and for people to get involved with the running of the club.
