Hat-trick hero: Bradley Dockerty.

The misfires of a few weeks ago were well forgotten as Wells took charge from the start and went on to win 5-1.

They were two up inside 16 minutes with Dockerty’s first goal and a Sam Jones effort. Jason Yates added a third before Danny Middleton pulled one back from a corner before half-time.

Hemsworth did not let up after the break with Dockerty completing his treble and taking his goal tally up to 13 for the season.

Hemsworth were back to winning ways with a brilliant 3-2 away victory at Worksop Town on Saturday.

Nash Connolly gave Wells a flying start with the opening goal after just five minutes and they doubled their advantage through Sam Jones nine minutes later as he put away a penalty that was awarded for handball.

Worksop pulled a goal back with Matthew Sykes netting and also hit the bar.

Hemsworth missed further chances before they made it 3-1 in the second half when Seon Ripley scored a well worked goal.

Kyle Jordan did pull a goal back for the home team, but it was too late to prevent Wells from celebrating an impressive victory.

Manager Wayne Benn thought his side deserved their success.

He said: “I’m delighted with the performance and result – 3-2 flatters Worksop and doesn’t do us justice.

“We should have been out of sight by half-time. Literally it should have been 5 or 6-1 if we take our chances and they couldn’t get near us. The gap in quality was massive in the first half.

“The second half was a bit more even. As you would expect they tried hard to get back into the game and they showed a bit more fight, but still we were very dangerous and should have scored another couple of one-on-ones to give the scoreline a truer picture of how good my team were.”

Hemsworth now travel to take on Eccleshill United this Saturday.
