Hemsworth MW put up a battling effort, but were beaten 3-2 at home by top six side Albion Sports in the Toolstation NCE Premier Division last Saturday.
Wayne Benn’s men started well enough with Nick Guest missing an early chance and Harry Viggars seeing a header saved.
At the other end Sam Leigh denied Karl Hall while Daniel Facey raced through only to blaze his shot over.
Omar Habeeb did put the visitors ahead on 34 minutes and they led 1-0 at the break.
Hemsworth hit back early in the second half as Cameron Clark’s cross was put into his own net by Temour Khan.
But two goals in two minutes by Facey gave them a mountain to climb for the final half-hour.
They kept going, though, with Adam Wilson’s effort bringing a good save from the visiting keeper and Billy Law denied from close range.
Clark scored in injury-time following a great run, but it came too late to prevent defeat for Wells – their third on the spin.
Hemsworth were hoping to get back to winning ways at Thackley on Tuesday, but the game fell victim to the weather again with the fixture postponed for the third time. The clubs will be hoping for fourth time lucky when it is now down to be played on Tuesday, April 11.
Hemsworth, who are now down in 14th place, travel to Retford this Saturday (kick-off 3pm) and next Tuesday they are away to Harrogate Railway Athletic (7.45pm).
