Hemsworth MW had their scheduled Toolstation NCE Division One game at Hull United postponed last Saturday, but still remain five points clear at the top.

Second-placed AFC Mansfield were unable to take full advantage as they needed a late equaliser to claim a 1-1 draw at home to Westella VIP.

Hemsworth hope to be back in action this Saturday when they are at home to mid-table Selby Town (3pm).

They then face the short trip to Glasshoughton Welfare next Tuesday (7.45pm) for an interesting looking local derby against a side under new management and with three straight wins to their credit.

Hemsworth’s long unbeaten league record came to an end last week when they went down 2-1 at Bottesford Town after taking a 38th minute lead through Sam Jones.

Wells’ promotion rivals Hull United, meanwhile, have been deducted three points for fielding a player in a league game who was under suspension and they are now down to sixth, 13 points behind Hemsworth.
