A second successive defeat saw Hemsworth MW slip down to seventh place in the Toolstation NCE Premier Division table.

Up against title-chasing Handsworth Parramore in a tough looking away fixture, Wells were in the contest at the halfway stage when going in level at 1-1, but were blown away in the second period to lose 4-1.

Hemsworth did well to keep their second-placed opponents in check in an opening half-hour that remained goalless.

Oscar Radford put Parramore ahead, but Nash Connolly replied before the break.

However, the game swung the hosts’ way again as Jamie Green netted on the hour and they clinched victory with further efforts from Jordan Turner, from the penalty spot, and Lee Cooksey.

Hemsworth will dust themselves down and return home to play Worksop Town this Saturday. They are also away in another league match at Hall Road Rangers next Tuesday (7.45pm).
