Hemsworth were pushing hard for a promotion place from the Premier Division into the BetVictor NPL, but have accepted the decision to wipe out all the results.

A statement on behalf of the club said: “Tough to take as a ball won’t be kicked again this season but out of fairness we think it’s the right decision in these tough times for all.

“On the back of this news the club would like to take time to thank everyone who has been involved in the 2019/20 season. Players, management, committee, volunteers fans and sponsors. We will see you all again when football returns.

“For the meantime please stay safe.”

On the subject of financing the club they added:

“In these tough times we need your help. Now our club can’t offer you football for the near future with your help we will able to do in the future. The lack of income is putting real strain on clubs like ours who still have bills to pay, please support us.”

The gofundme page set up by Hemsworth MW can be accessed online through the club’s website and has raised £400 so far.
