Hemsworth MW maintained their promotion push in Division One of the Toolstation NCE League when they won 4-1 at Selby Town on Tuesday night.

All the goals came in an action-packed first half with the victory keeping Welfare in second place in the table.

Top scorer Nick Guest gave Hemsworth a flying start when he put away a penalty after just four minutes.

Selby hit back to level through Dane Mortimer, but three goals in seven minutes carried the game right away from them as Guest, Sam Colbear and Rob Crapper all netted.

Hemsworth’s scheduled game away to Hall Road Rangers last Saturday fell victim to the weather again and has now been rearranged for Tuesday, March 17 with a 7.45pm kick-off.

This Saturday Welfare are at home to Bottesford Town (kick-off 3pm) and are expecting a tricky game against eighth-placed opponents who held them to a goalless draw back in September.

Hemsworth are also due to be in action next Tuesday when they travel to play Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, who although are down in 17th place also drew with Welfare in November.
