The funeral of former Frickley Athletic player and manager Cyril Wooliscroft took place at Rose Hill Crematorium, Cantley on Monday after he died recently, aged 88.
Cyril played for the Blues between 1955 and 1958, making around 60 appearances, mainly at left-back. But he is probably more renowned as the Frickley manager between April 1963 and November 1973.
During that period the Blues reached the first round of the FA Cup three times, playing Notts County, Halifax and Rotherham, reached the Sheffield Senior Cup final five times – winning it twice – and finished runners-up in the Midland Central League in 1972-73.
Cyril also managed Retford Town.
