Frickley Athletic hit the Wembley trail this Saturday off the back of restoring confidence at home with a league victory last weekend.

After losing three successive home games in the Evo-Stik Premier League the Blues beat Sutton Coldfield 3-1 at the SW Jackson Utilities Stadium to cement their place in the top half of the table.

Karl Rose’s men now take a break from the league for a week when they play in the FA Trophy, which ends in a final at Wembley next year.

They are in the first qualifying round and travel to playfellow Evo-Stik Premier side Buxton (kick-off 3pm), who they have still to play twice in the league this season. If a replay is required it would take place at Frickley’s ground next Tuesday.

The club is running a players and officials coach to Buxton on Saturday with a limited number of places available for supporters.

The coach leaves North Elmsall at 11.45am with seats costing £10. Supporters wishing to travel on the coach should book their seats by contacting Ruth Simpson on 07719 011061.
