Midfielder Lee, 35, is the nephew of Frickley manager Dave Frecklington and they actually played together while at Stamford.

But Lee's career has mostly been in the Football League with more than 500 appearances in total for Peterborough, Rotherham United and Lincoln City

In a terrific career Lee won at Wembley and has a number of promotion celebrations on his CV. He scored the winning goal against Aldershot to clinch a League Two promotion for Rotherham and went all the way up to the Championship with the Millers, for who he was made captain.

Back at Lincoln City, where he began his football career, he was again made captain for the 2018-19 season and once more helped his team to League Two promotion.

Frecklington also gained an international B cap for the Republic of Ireland.

With the help of Uncle Dave, Frickley have fought off a lot of competition to secure Lee’s signature after his release from Lincoln and hope he can use all his experience to help the Blues to a big campaign when they can start competitive football again.
