With their 6-0 win at Belper Town on Saturday, Frickley Athletic moved to the top of the table for highest goals per game ratio in Steps 1-4 of the non-league football pyramid.

The promotion-chasing Evo-Stik South side have not stopped banging in the goals all season with some hugely enjoyable games taking place at their Big Fellas Stadium.

Ahead of their trip to play Stocksbridge Park Steels tonight the Blues have scored 99 goals in 36 league matches at an average of 2.75 a game and bagged 121 in total including cup competitions.

The South Elmsall side have scored in 41 consecutive games since their loss to Alvechurch on August 26, setting another club record along the way.

Entertainment has been high on the agenda since the side was rebuilt by manager Spencer Fearn this season and all the attacking football has also led to Frickley conceding their fair share as well as they have let in 55 goals in the league, so there has been a staggering 154 goals in 36 league games at average of 4.27 per game.

Leading scorer Jacob Hazel reached 42 goals on Tuesday to break a post war club record and club legend Gavin Allott has also netted 24 goals so far.

Fans will be hoping the goals continue to flow. Frickley visit Stocksbridge tonight, host leaders Basford United on Saturday and are at home to Carlton Town next Monday evening.

They are looking to keep the pressure on second-placed Alvechurch but are four points behind from one more game.
