One of Frickley Athletic’s summer signings, Rhys Davies, has left the club after being unable to force his way into the starting line-up for the Evo-Stik League club.
Young winger Davies, who joined from Liversedge, has moved on to NCE League team Worksop Town.
Frickley manager Spencer Fearn explained: “Unfortunately Rhys has not been able to get in the starting line-up at Frickley Athletic and wants to be playing more regular football, so I contacted Ryan Hindley and Craig Spink at Worksop who were more than happy to sign him.
“He’s a great lad and we wish him all the very best for the future.”
Fearn has added another player from the club’s under 19s team to his first team squad with midfielder Morgan Armit signing. The latest product of Mick Thompson’s successful academy was on the bench for last Saturday’s game at Basford.
Frickley are back at home this Saturday when they host bottom of the table Gresley (3pm) and they are also in action at Westfield Lane on Tuesday night against seventh-placed Spalding United (7.45pm).
