Frickley add a second Allott to their squad

Frickley Athletic have added a second Allott on their books having signed Gavin’s brother, Grant, from Pontefract Collieries.

Centre-back Grant brings plenty of experience with him to Westfield Lane, having previously played for Staveley, Worksop, Dinnington, Parkgate, Goole and AFC Mansfield.

He went straight into the squad for the game Alvechurch on Saturday.

Young forward Ryan Ferguson, meanwhile, has gone to Liversedge for a month to in a bid to get regular game time.

The annual Frickley Athletic Golf Day proved a success, raising £700 for the Supporters Club.

The event was organised by Pete Bywater and Charlotte Graves and nearest to the pin was won by Craig Dungeness while the best team was Dean Wright, James Scott, Graham Rimmington and John Hancock. Best player was Dean Wright.

Board member Ryan McKnight said: “I’d like to thank everyone who was involved in organising the golf day and also those who played on the day.

“It was a day of ups and downs (both geographically and on the score card) for a lot of us but undoubtedly there was a great atmosphere, a cracking day weather-wise and, of course, a good fund raiser.”
