After back to back away wins in the Evo-Stik Premier League, Frickley Athletic are looking to make it a hat-trick of successes on their travels when they begin the road to possible Emirates FA Cup glory this Saturday.

Karl Rose’s men have put themselves in the top half of the table with their promising results since losing their first two games and now have a brief break from the league as they face Maltby Main, from the Toolstation NCE League in a first qualifying round tie.

If the game ends in a draw a replay will take place next Tuesday at SW Jackson Utilities Stadium, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

NCE Premier Division Maltby have made a good start to the campaign with six points from their first three league games.

In the FA Cup they have enjoyed excellent preliminary round wins over Frickley’s fellow Evo-Stik Premier side Ashton United, via a replay, and North West Counties League team 1874 Northwich and they also had FA Vase success away to AFC Blackpool last Saturday.

But Frickley travel to South Yorkshire in good spirits after winning their last two away games by 2-0 margins at Ramsbottom United and Colwyn Bay. They also drew at Sutton Coldfield Town so manager Karl Rose has clearly got his team well set up to play away from home.
