Hemsworth MW were back to winning ways in good style in the Premier Division of the Toolstation NCE League at Harrogate Railway Athletic on Tuesday night.
Wayne Benn’s men went into the game off the back of three straight defeats, which had seen them drop down to 14th after they have been in the top 10 all season previously, but they found their goal touch again with a 4-2 victory.
Harrogate struck first as Roy Fogarty netted on nine minutes, but Wells were level 13 minutes later through Nash Connolly and went ahead before half-time when Sam Jones struck with a header.
It remained 2-1 until some late excitement after Hemsworth added their third goal on 83 minutes through Richard Collier, who lost his marker and finished well.
Two more goals followed. Harrogate kept going and were rewarded with Stephen Bromley scoring, but Luke Danville also netted for Wells to complete their 4-2 victory.
They climbed back up a place and are just three points off a top 10 spot with 11 games still to play.
Hemsworth were left frustrated last Saturday when their scheduled game at Retford United was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. It will now be played on Tuesday, March 28 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
This Saturday Hemsworth face a tough looking game at home to fifth-placed Handsworth Parramore (kick-off 3pm).
