Contractors moved onto Frickley Athletic’s Westfield Lane ground on Monday to begin preliminary work ahead of the construction of the new community pavilion building.
This initial work will include setting up facilities and fencing off the site before the actual digging out commences, which is currently scheduled for June 15. The contractors will also be removing the existing concrete ground perimeter fence in this area and reinstating it in place of the current wooden fence to form the new perimeter fence between the ground and the car park to the new building.
The club is currently just under £6,400 short of reaching its £50,000 fundraising target for its share of the costs towards the new building.
Any person or business able to help towards this figure can contact chairman Gareth Dando on email@example.com
Mr Dando said: “We’re proud that we’re giving local kids great facilities and the best chance to progress in the game.”
