A hat-trick from Nash Connolly helped Hemsworth MW to their fifth straight victory when they beat Knaresborough Town 4-2 in an away game in Division One of the Toolstation NCE League.

Connolly’s first fired Welfare ahead in the 12th minute, but George Eustance hit back for the hosts to make it 1-1 at half-time.

Shane Kelsey restored Hemsworth’s lead on the hour before two goals in two minutes from Connolly saw him complete his hat-trick and put his side in complete control.

Bradley Walker scored for Knaresborough, but it was a mere consolation.

Victory stretched Welfare’s unbeaten run to seven and kept them in fifth place in the table, five points behind leaders Hull United with a game in hand.

They have a chance to climb the table this Saturday when at home to second-placed AFC Mansfield at the MDC Stadium, kick-off 3pm.

Hemsworth are also in action next Tuesday when they travel to face bottom of the league Winterton Rangers (kick-off 7.45pm).
