Barnsley FC have completed the signing of former Manchester City player Reece Wabara on a short-term deal.
Wabara, 23, joins the Reds after being released by Doncaster Rovers at the end of last season.
He made 43 appearances for club last season, scoring once.
His deal with the Tykes runs through until December 31 and Barnsley becomes the versatile defender’s seventh professional club.
Barnsley head coach Lee Johnson said: “I’m really pleased Reece has decided to join us. He is a good player with a fantastic pedigree who will provide support and competition for James Bree.”
Wabara added: “I can’t wait to get cracking. It’s a great club and the head coach has exciting plans which I’m keen to be a part of.”
He could make his debut this weekend against Bradford City.
