BARNSLEY have completed a loan deal for out-of-favour Nottingham Forest striker Marcus Tudgay.
Reds boss Keith Hill has been keen to add more firepower to his goal-shy squad and the former Sheffield Wednesday man is set to arrive at Oakwell on a deal until January.
The 29-year-old is down the pecking order at the City Ground having made just two substitute appearances for Forest so far this term.
He is set to get more first-team action with the Tykes and Hill will hope his new addition gets in the goals after seeing his men go three matches without scoring.
The move is also with a view to a permanent deal in January.
Sheffield Wednesday striker Chris O’Grady, who Hill worked with at Rochdale, had been tipped for a move to Oakwell to bolster the Reds’ attacking options.
But with Tudgay’s arrival, and the return to training of top-scorer Craig Davies, any move for O’Grady could be over for now.
Tudgay could go straight into Barnsley’s squad for their trip to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
