NORWICH City have completed the signing of Barnsley midfielder Jacob Butterfield.
The 22-year-old had been linked with a move away from Oakwell for a number of months and the Canaries have finally ended speculation over his future by announcing his arrival on a four-year deal.
Butterfield’s Barnsley contract had expired but the Reds will still be entitled to some compensation for a player who came through their youth ranks and wore the captain’s armband last term.
The England under-21 international hasn’t played a competitive game this year after suffering a serious injury against Leeds United in December.
The Reds have been linked with transfer-listed Derby County midfielder James Bailey as a replacement for Butterfield.
